NORTHERN VIRGINIA IS IN THE MIDST OF WINTER, BUT, YOU CAN HAVE BEAUTIFUL, COLORFUL, VIBRANT BLOSSOMS.

PLANT A FEW AMARYLLIS BULBS.  The length of daylight in Loudoun County, VA must be just to the Amaryllis liking.  These babies have thrived with just a tad of water.  I’m always pleasantly surprised to see a seed, a cutting, a bulb peek through the soil.

Beautiful blossoms in the midst of winter.  Just look!

I planted the bulbs for these beautiful plants about 8 weeks ago.  They have been giving us colorful and cheerful blossoms day after day for about a week.

Amaryllis can be planted from October through April.  They bloom about 6-7 weeks after planting.  I don’t know how long the flowering period will last but we’ll enjoy every single day.

The Begonia stems that I rooted last Spring are still blooming too.  They are so hardy and easy to grow.

The bright and easy to grow Begonia does well indoors too.  What a nice addition to my Sunroom.
